Paris, I <3 you !

I am writing this already being in Paris for a little while and I can honestly say that I love it here already especially the area around the residence. The food is really good so far, and I just know that I will be enjoying all the carbs from the croissants, baguettes, and every other pastry imaginable.  My favorite part about the Netherlands and exploring it was being able to walk around and see everything as I walked to other locations. I wonder if I will see the same walkability of the city. I love to go on walks and do my exploration in that manner. I hope that once I take the metro in the city, I will be able to walk around and see everything from that perspective.

I honestly hope to feel inspired. Coming into this summer program, I was still deciding whether or not I wanted to pursue Computer Science compared to Psychology specifically focusing on Human Factors and Engineering Design. I quickly realized how I was limiting myself especially since computer science does not cover what I am interested in. I want more practical applications that provide me the luxury to expand my knowledge and become more skilled in my prospective field. I am really excited to gain more technical skills during this class and become a better design engineer. I am really excited to see how we will immerse ourselves into this course and use the city to really enrich this two-week experience.

As you can see in my previous blog posts and this one, Jenny is my exploration partner. So, these selfies are very much a routine along with Jenny fulfilling my mom’s wishes and being my self-proclaimed photographer.  I am honestly very excited to visit the historic areas along with being outside and taking in the nature. I am a huge fan of gardens and more recreational and fun outside areas where I can admire plants, people watch and just observe the world with the serene sound of the world around us. So, I am really excited to see the lifestyle of Paris and how that may differ from what I am used to in Houston/ Boston (where I am originally from).

Well. I will partially allow food and the attractions to dictate the areas I initially explore just because Amsterdam’s food scene did not treat me as well as Paris has been. I am also excited to engage in activities like thrifting and finding gifts for both my mother and grandma since I missed both of their birthdays during my time abroad. I also put pictures of my first meal here because I enjoyed it thoroughly and made up for the brutal commute to the Paris housing. I am very thrilled to walk around the city and honestly just take in the scenery and the summer weather that is here. Paris is honestly very refreshing and makes me want to consider other study abroad opportunities that may be longer term. All in all, I am ready to experience and soak in all Paris has to offer. From the architecture to the food this city has a lot to showcase, and I am really excited to get to see all of it.
