Sunday!
7am bus to Jaco. Iglesia Radical. Selina Jaco. Playa Hermosa – Big waves for days. Las Olas. Sand Castle Making. 4pm Bus back with Douglas. Iglesia con Summer. Mey Lai Wa. Menu has like 400 different items. Coughing and still sick. 🙁
Monday!
No morning class. Uber to Heredia. Meet up with Rice in Country. El Testy. Park with workout equipment. Pops. Train Station. Too long of wait, uber. Big bump in car.
Tuesday!
Class, Finish writing testing procedures and creating 3 different sized prototypes. Helped make meatballs and spaghetti. Way too spicy.
Wednesday!
9am Class. Did testing with ULACIT students trying on our 3 sizes of prototypes. Interviewed nurses from the hospital. Jeff and Brendan walked with me to KFC so I could use my coupon. Uber to English Club. Somos Group.
Thursday!
9am class. Did longer tests with ULACIT students and us on the comfort of our device. Finished presentation slides. Bought bus tickets for the next day. Went to Mey Lai Wa- it was an experience again. Went bowling with the group. I played 10 rounds and only hit 9 pins. But then when I played as Walsh I got a strike. Then we went to go see some of the ulacit students. They planned a whole event for us but then security made us leave. It was kinda sad.
Friday!
Bus to Manuel Antonio with Brendan, Alice and Carly. Apparently traffic but I slept. Rest stop, fried chicken. Shmacked. Walk to Casa Rosa. Very nice place. Made pasta and coffee. Music. Vibes. Truth or truth.
Saturday!
6am eggs. No uber. Public bus to Manuel Antonio National Park. Got persuaded into paying for a tour guide. Thankfully Rafeal was great, we saw sloths, monkeys, crabs, and bats! 3 different beaches. Hiked to a cool view point. Absolutely great day. Bus ride back sat with Brendan and he got me a stick thing with meat from the rest stop.
Sunday!
5am Uber driver. Alice, Brendan and I managed to get all our bags in one car. Breakfast overpriced Starbucks Coffee and Pan de Queso. (queijo). Waited at the airport with Brendan and I ate overpriced hot dogs and kombucha. Finally got a connecting flight at 10pm and got home.
Final thoughts as I wait in the airport:
The Mey Lai Wa was one interesting restaurant. The second time I went I ordered a tempura for 6300 and the plate ended up being huge- I was not expecting it.
Testing on ULACIT students was fun but also super weird like if I was at Rice and got asked by some Costa Ricans to try on a sock I would be confused but I’m glad the ULACIT students were really nice.
Manuel Antonio Park is a small park but one of the most worth it places. Also the additional money for the tour guide was also really worth it.
Lastly, airport food is really expensive and cookie n’ cream flavored oreos should have never been a thing.
I will miss the greenness of Costa Rica daily.
