To Infinity and Beyond!

On Monday, May 20th we had the chance to visit the amazing city of Torino, known for its amazing chocolate and its Baroque architecture.

We first went to Arduino’s workplace where we got to see their new products “Arduino Cloud” and a small programmable car as well as to experience “a day in the life of an Arduino Designer/Engineer.” I even go to meet Arduino’s CEO, Favio Violante!! (picture below).

We then headed for Thales Alenia Space factory where we had the most in-depth tour of the whole trip. We were told about the origins of the company, what they were working on, and the future of their work. In their installations we observed their work concerning the supply ships to the ISS, the ExoMars mission (to find life on Mars), and the new project to replace the ISS in the future. Sadly we couldn’t take a lot of pictures due to the confidentiality of the subject, but that only shows how important is what we learned!

We closed by going back to the city center for some free time where my friend Justin and I stumbled into a local pizza place were we got to talk to an Italian waiter and a Brazilian customer using four different languages: English, Spanish, Italian and a bit of Portuguese! Super fun experience trying to communicate that way.

The way back was just gorgeous, looking at the Italian fields in the middle of a thunderstorm while chilling inside the bus. 10/10 experience!
