During week three of the trip we began ENGI 200. I was super excited to learn that there was a non-biomedical engineering project. I was looking for something different than what we have done that last two weeks, and I was excited to explore a new field. Erin, Victoria and I formed the Biblio Busters Team and we began designing an alarm and alert system to prevent book theft from the Nexus room at the Ion. This week we focused a lot on the technical stuff like research and decision matrices. I loved working with Victoria and Erin! They are so fun to work with and we work really well together. Below is a picture of the start of the prototyping process! Some super cool soldering action.
This week we were able to go to Manuel Antonio. It was a super amazing trip. We began by moving all of our stuff up to a beautiful airbnb with an amazing view of the mountains. During the trip we hiked, hung out on the beach and went surfing. One of my favorite moments is when Luke spent 30 minutes cracking open a coconut (with no knife) so we could feed the stray dogs on the beach.
